Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Training

I possess a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) credential with a Women's Fitness Specialization (WFS) from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). My goal is to provide clients with safe, effective exercise routines during the prenatal and postpartum periods to promote general overall wellness.


I am a major proponent of exercising for improved long-term physical and mental health, not simply for short-term results. However, during the prenatal and postpartum periods, it is necessary to modify exercise to ensure optimal safety for the birthing parent and baby.


Evidence suggests that exercise during pregnancy may reduce the risk of hypertensive disorders and gestational diabetes, may be associated with a shorter first stage of labor and a lower risk of having a cesarean birth, and is helpful for maintaining an appropriate gestational weight gain and fetal weight gain, along with overall wellness. Exercise during the postpartum period has been shown to reduce symptoms of postpartum mental illnesses and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
